Our Show Hope “tree” is in many ways a picture of this ministry and reflects our continued desire for Show Hope in the coming years. A tree is most sustained by that which is unseen: its root system. As is the case for Show Hope, it is what goes on beneath the surface that enables us to grow and bear much fruit. During these early years, our faithful supporters have helped us to take root through steadfast commitment and prayers, and for this we are forever grateful.
Taking Root
It was God who directed and enabled the “roots” of this ministry to take hold, and we can be confident that He will guide our steps to impact many more lives around the world for His glory. Proverbs 16:9 reads, “A man makes a plan in his heart, but God directs his path.” Instead of a lofty strategy that would solve the world’s orphan crisis, our plan quite simply is to go deeper into the areas of ministry that God has entrusted to us, one waiting child at a time.
We believe that God is leading us beyond providing for dozens of special needs orphans to providing for hundreds more. We believe He is taking us beyond these first eighteen hundred grants to awarding thousands more. We believe that He wants us to go from mobilizing tens of thousands in the body of Christ to mobilizing millions more to care for orphans. We know that God will lead us beyond what we could ask or imagine, because He is that kind of God.
Bearing Fruit
The tree whose roots have been firmly established and continually watered will certainly bear good fruit in season. Through obedience, wise stewardship, and the support of donors like you, we will move forward; yet our trust is not in our own abilities, for “it’s not the one who plants or the one who waters who is at the center of this process but God, who makes things grow” (1 Cor. 3:7).
