If you’ve been paying attention to our blog and photo of the day, you’ve already caught a couple of glimpses of today’s MBHOH spotlight. Dwayne was featured “reading the paper” on September 2 and “racing” on September 21.

Today we wanted to tell you more about this energetic little guy. Dwayne first came to MBHOH with a diagnosis of bronchitis and Down Syndrome. After several months, he was able to fight off the bronchitis and never looked back!
Dwayne’s eyes are full of wonder at the world around him. He is particularly curious about mouths and noses, gently tugging at them to try to get a closer look. He has grown quickly with the care he receives at MBHOH, and his demeanor and sweet chubbiness endear him to his nannies and nurses.

Last week was a big one for Dwayne. He started walking without help and quickly built confidence in his new skill. After only a few days, he can walk across the room all by himself! Stories like Dwayne’s remind us that Show Hope sponsors help these orphans not just to survive, but to truly thrive.
