Last month, we told you about a Big Hands of Hope children’s campaign at New Hope Baptist in Hermitage, TN that is raising hope and funds for Show Hope! The kids at New Hope are ecstatic that they reached their first $1,000.00 dollar mark for Maria’s Big House of Hope after only 3 weeks, and are well on their way to $2000.
The children have been working hard, collecting change everywhere they go, including two local restaurants. The paper hands they are selling line the hallways of the church. The New Hope kids have also gotten creative with their fundraising. After asking for $1 donations from cars entering the church parking lot, the older kids (3-5 graders) clean the windshields of participating church members during the main service!
We will update you on this ministry as it continues throughout the fall. We look forward to hearing from other churches answering the call to help orphans through adapting these ideas! Jana Miller, a mother at New Hope writes,
My kids Noah and Jacy had their birthday party last weekend and Noah asked for no presents…just change for orphans! He was so excited to take his special offering to church. Thank you so much for allowing us to partner with you for these few months…the lessons our children are learning are life changing. It is amazing how parents are now getting excited about helping orphans through the enthusiasm of their children.
