jessica-10272009-2Jessica was admitted to Maria’s Big House of Hope with a diagnosis of cerebal palsy. She was also fighting a cold and recovering from a leg break that set back her important muscle gains.

By the grace of God, after recovering at MBHOH, she began to open up more and started to regain muscle use. Its been a slow and frustrating journey for Jessica, but she has come so far. She can sit up with the help of a pillow and pick up small objects, which is a really big success! Jessica is also learning to talk and can understand and respond to her nannies. She recognizes people, remembering their names, and can even say a few things in English.

Mikey and Jessica

Jessica is a real testament to the work of MBHOH.  With love, care, and constant engagement, the children with cerebral palsy can make amazing progress – progress they wouldn’t make in a different environment. The smallest movement or action is a gigantic success and cause for celebration. It is so amazing to see them changing and growing.
