june-01June was born extremely prematurely with a syndrome that initially affected her ability to suck and eat (Pierre Robin syndrome). It took more than six months of tube feeding for her health to become fairly stable.

What is unique about June is that because of this syndrome, she has little to no use of her facial muscles. Her smiles are hard to see at first, but the more familiar one becomes with her, it becomes easy to distinguish happiness by the small contours of her gentle smiles and the quality of sparkle in her eyes. It is a very endearing quality.

june-1092009-1June is extremely affectionate and loves to be held. When told goodbye, June waves and then blows a kiss — often keeping it held on her lips and forgetting to send it. Today, thanks to our sponsors who ensure that love and care are lavished on June at Maria’s Big House of Hope, she is an extremely happy, healthy little girl. Please pray with us that June will soon know the warm embrace of an adoptive family.
