mozombite2When David and Amy Mozombite began their adoption journey, they believed their son was waiting for them in El Salvador. It seemed to make sense for the family, since David is from Peru and both speak Spanish. However, Amy wondered in the back of her mind if they should have chosen to pursue an adoption from Ethiopia instead. When their adoption agency encouraged the couple to switch countries, her small inkling was confirmed and they wholeheartedly knew that their little boy was in Ethiopia. When David and Amy received their referral call after months of waiting, they were overwhelmed by a feeling “outrageous joy.”

mozombite-david-amy-ethioThe Mozombite’s were astounded by God’s perfect timing as their little boy came home to his forever family. Asher came home just months before the family was set to move to Bolivia as missionaries. This adorable two year old is fitting in well with his brother and sister, and will grow up speaking both English and Spanish.

Amy and David are humbled by all of the assistance they received during their adoption journey, and hope other families who are considering adoption will be encouraged by their story. Amy writes,

One of the first comments mentioned to us as we were announcing our news was that we did not have the money for an international adoption. We knew that was true, but we also knew that God provides for what He calls us to do. We quickly saw that provision in many ways–individual gifts, garage sales, fundraisers, prayer and a grant from Show Hope. We will always be grateful to the Show Hope sponsors who gave to help us bring our son home forever!
