Paul and Miranda Martin knew they wanted to adopt someday, but wondered if they would qualify for adoption since they had two sons under the age of three at home. If they did qualify, they knew finances would be the next and biggest obstacle they would face. They were greatly encouraged after a few other families in their church began pursuing adoption, though, and decided to take their own step in faith. As they went through the paperwork and the wait for a child from Ethiopia, the family began to understand a deeper reality–their own Heavenly adoption. At each step in the journey, they found God’s provision for their family.
As the little boys began to speak excitedly about their new brother or sister, the Martin’s heard the good news that they would receive a Show Hope adoption aid grant. When they received the referral call for a girl, the family was overjoyed! The Martin’s named their daughter Felicity to reflect the “happiness” they found through God’s work in their lives. Miranda writes:
We were SO THRILLED by the contribution from Show Hope! I think it was the biggest reminder that God was caring for us. You continually need that in the process–reminders that He is the one to do the work; He is the one who equips those he calls; and He is the one caring for our family in each part of this journey. Thank you so much to the Show Hope sponsors who gave towards our grant.
