juliana-125_01Juliana was admitted to Maria’s Big House of Hope in August 2009 at one year old. Before being admitted, she had surgery for a malignant scalp tumor. Along with some scars from this surgery, you may also notice a few blue marks on her face that are possibly a result of the surgery. When she arrived at MBHOH she was very skinny and irritable, but after weeks of love and care she became much more playful and comfortable in her new environment. She is now very healthy and active.

julianananny-1-916_01Over the past few months, Juliana has learned to walk and joins Rihanna and Dwayne as they run through the hallways yelling and dancing. She is the little sister in her room and as so, is always tagging along with the older kids trying catch up to them and figure out what they are doing. Juliana is also very playful. She often runs to you with her arms up as if she wants you to hold her, then just as you bend down to pick her up, will run away looking back with a smile on her face as if to say, “come catch me!”

Because the nurses at MBHOH give such individualized care to each child, they recently noticed Juliana’s tumor was slowly getting bigger. Though she is in good spirits, please pray for God’s healing and that he would continue to bless this sweet girl with comfort and health. We are thankful that our sponsors walk alongside us in this work at Maria’s Big House of Hope to bring the best comfort and care possible to children whose needs, like Juliana’s, can change daily.
