David is a happy little guy who arrived at Maria’s Big House of Hope in February of this year, as he was recovering from surgery on his cleft lip. His laughter comes easily, and he is quick to crack a big grin. He is very social and it doesn’t take long for him to warm up to new people. Belle, David’s nurse, loves to play with him and often brings him along on morning rounds in his nursery.
While he had his first surgery on his lip late last year, David is still awaiting the repair of his cleft palate. With the recent opening of the second floor, David was moved to be with several other babies who have cleft lips and palates that will receive surgeries during the next visit of a team of doctors from Geisinger Medical Center in June. We are thankful for these doctors and the support of Show Hope sponsors who help make these life-changing surgeries possible.
As the oldest child in the room, David is settling in well as the “king” of the Nemo Room. He is particularly attached to his blue toy car and loves to drive it around the nursery. When David is not “driving,” he can usually be found crawling or scooting around the room in his bouncer.
