I know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). God called my husband and me to adopt, and as we made our requests known to Him throughout the whole process, He answered. In the beginning, Jim and I waited two years as we prayed to be matched with a little girl. We were also open to keeping a sibling group together, but when our agency presented us with a referral for five-year-old triplets it still felt overwhelming at first. Instead of being able to hand clothes down to younger children as we had with our sons, we would need three of everything all at once! This would also mean a dramatic increase in the fees associated with the adoption. However, God gave us peace to walk forward in faith, and He provided.
When we met our daughters for the first time in Bogota, Colombia, I was so worried that I would not be able to speak enough Spanish, or that I would cry and not get any photos, but it was pure joy for us to finally meet Angie, Camila, and Roci! They are amazing little girls with beautiful smiles, and their hair was in lovely braids for this special day.
We’re still completely humbled and in awe of the way God uses Show Hope sponsors to bless families who desire to walk forward in obedience to help the fatherless. The Show Hope grant we received enabled us to cover the remaining expenses needed to adopt our daughters. As hard as it has been at times, God has done amazing work in bringing healing to their little minds and bodies while bonding us as a family. I love to see our sons laughing and playing with the girls. I love to see how my husband looks when he is holding our daughters. I am excited to see what God has in store for our future. This is just the beginning! Thank you for being a part of it!
