I have always really treasured my relationship with Emily – we have been childhood friends, roommates, co-workers at Show Hope, and finally we became sister-in-laws two and a half years ago. She has been a vital part of my growing up, especially into young adulthood. She has taught me, challenged me, and loved me like a sister. I cannot even put into words how excited I am that I am her baby’s aunt!
Eiley Eliza Richards joined this world 7 days ago and already she has brought so much joy to our family!!! I know the Lord has great plans for this little lady and can’t wait to see how they unfold! On behalf of Show Hope, welcome to the world, Eiley Eliza Richards! And Congratulations, Em and Tan! I can’t wait to watch how you shape her sweet little life in the years to come!

Here’s your chance to leave your well wishes for the Richards family! Leave a comment on this post and we will be sure to pass them along to Emily.
Looking back on 2010, it is hard to believe that the Night with the Chapmans tour is actually over! No more bunks and venues and catering?? After both the tour and the holidays, I feel like I have almost forgotten what “real” life is like, but I’m happily adjusting to life back in the office in this new year.
The tour was incredible! I had the awesome privilege of meeting so many different volunteers across the country. The grant families blessed me with their adoption stories, and the Show Hope Supporters continually shocked me with their willingness to fill in the gaps. It was truly a vivid picture of what God does when we step out in faith together! We had 2000 new sponsors sign up on the tour to join us in caring for orphans through adoption assistance and orphan care! All that to say I couldn’t have done any of this by myself, so THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered or who became Show Hope sponsors this tour!! I am so grateful to have had this experience with all of you!!!
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”
– Philippians 1: 3-6

When I first started working for Show Hope, one of my favorite job responsibilities was opening the mail. I know it sounds crazy, but I got to read everything from sweet, heartfelt “Thank You’s” to amazing adoption testimonies and great fundraising stories. I got to see it all! Although I don’t currently open the mail on a daily basis, I still get to sort through the donations that come in. Every now and again, there will be a particular story or a picture that really stands out. That is exactly what happened yesterday.
I opened up an envelope to see a picture of Wesley, the sweetest little red-headed boy that, by the looks of the picture, was really excited to do his part for the orphan crisis! He’s so cute, right? Wesley also included a hand-drawn card and a donation “for the babies at Maria’s Big House of Hope.” I wish I knew more of Wesley’s story, but I think his obvious excitement is evidence that he really gets it! It’s further proof that no matter how young, we can all do our part to join the movement to care for orphans!
