My husband had the incredible opportunity to take a team of 30 to Peru a couple of weeks ago!  I can’t wait to share all that happened on his trip….so many people came to know the Lord.  Well, before he left I ended up getting pretty sick.  So, I drove to visit my mom and sister in Arkansas.  I am just so thankful for her.  She is such an incredible example of a Godly woman.  I always had a heart to travel overseas.  I went to Haiti in 10th grade and she was nothing but encouraging.  She has cheered me on and prayed for me as I left on many trips to Guatemala.  She supported me when Chris and I decided that I would move to Guatemala to live with Eliana until her adoption was finalized.  I remember my mom telling me that her dream as a little girl was to run her own orphanage.  I love that she is now an amazing grandma to a little Guatemalan diva.  She shows hope to so many!!  I love her heart and love that she’s my mom.  Is this picture of my baby girl and mom wearing their Show Hope gear not the best?!!

Guess who I just handed a Show Hope Miracles Book and t-shirt to?  Brad Paisley!  Some of my co-workers saw him from a distance and let me know that he was near our Show Hope offices, and I thought to myself, “Seize the day!”

He was in the middle of trying out   a new guitar at a music store, and I felt horrible for interrupting him.  I quickly said, “Excuse me sir, my dad is Steven Curtis Chapman . . . I think you may know him.  I work for Show Hope and our offices are nearby.  Show Hope is the organization my parents started.  At Show Hope we give financial grants to families who want to adopt but are unable to afford it…”  I think I was speaking a million miles a minute so as to not take up too much time.

He was such a kind guy.  He totally stopped what he was doing and asked how our family was, saying he really respected the way in which we have walked through the tragic loss of Maria.  He talked very highly of my dad, even calling him a hero of his!  He was very grateful for the Show Hope shirt, and seemed interested in reading through the Miracles book to find out more about what we do!

All that is to say, Brad Paisley is a great guy and it was a pleasure getting to meet him today.  But, I think the greater pleasure was getting to share the message of Show Hope with just one more person who may not have known about it this morning when they woke up.  As I was trying to garner up courage to interrupt his guitar playing, I kept seeing the faces of all those little ones at Maria’s Big House of Hope! Their story is worth telling, and that is why it is such a privilege to share the message of Show Hope with others so they know how they can most effectively be involved.

I encourage all of you to share the message of Show Hope with somebody today!  Perhaps you can share about one of the children from Maria’s Big House of Hope who have been spotlighted recently . . . Or about an adoptive family who was able to see their adoption dream become a reality because of Show Hope donors!  Thanks so much for your continued support and remember . . . “Seize the day!”

Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman had the opportunity to go and talk with Dennis and Barbara Rainey at Family Life in Little Rock, AR.  They were able to attend a Family Life chapel service and then had a full day of interviews with them about Choosing to SEE and adoption!  Dennis and Barbara’s daughter just had twin girls in April….we can’t wait to see what they both look like in their “I Heart Show Hope” t-shirts!!

There is no one that wears their Show Hope Style more than Mary Beth Chapman.  She has made every single t-shirt into a funky, cool outfit.  I think she has pretty much only worn Show Hope items (minus her Duke gear) since the line of clothing was revealed.  I love how she paired this vintage scarf and t-shirt with her dark jeans.  So cool Mary Beth!!

Another thing that you should know about me is that I love a great outfit…and am always trying to come up with ways to wear things in a fresh, new way.  My sisters and mom joke with me because every single time I buy something, I always let them know exactly what I’m going to wear it with….and how many things it will go with.  Well, I can’t wait to do that for y’all with all of the Show Hope clothing and merchandise.  This is going to be a recurring blog where I demonstrate how you can wear your Show Hope gear.  Feel free to send me pictures of how you make your t-shirts into hip outfits and you could make it into one of my Show Hope Style posts.  Thanks for spreading the word!!  So thankful for y’all.
