I absolutely love this picture of Mark Hall from Casting Crowns and his family with Mary Beth Chapman at Maria’s Big House of Hope. They look great in our Show Hope t-shirts!! We are so excited for the Hall family….they just brought home their precious daughter Hope from China!!
Many of you know a little bit about my story, but I wanted to share how thankful I am to be a part of the Show Hope team! I have always had a heart for adoption…it is something that God put in me at a very young age. I remember holding babies in a Guatemala orphanage when I was in college and begging God to allow me to adopt one day. Then, the Lord gave me a husband (Chris) who had the same desires. I will never forget the first time we both went to Guatemala together…our lives would never be the same. We fell in love with a little girl and felt the Lord calling us to start the adoption process. There were so many twists and turns on our journey. I ended up actually moving to Guatemala for a few months to live with our little Eliana until her adoption was finalized. There are so many costs in adoption. I will never forget the day we received our Show Hope grant in the mail. Our agency needed a certain amount of money and the grant came the next day!! God provided for us every single step of our adoption journey.
It is so hard to believe that it has been 2 years since I lived in Guatemala. God opened the door for me to come and work at Show Hope in January…and I am so grateful. The team of people I work with are incredible. I love that I get to sell merchandise so that we can give more families grants. Know that when you are buying a Show Hope tote bag or a cute t-shirt….you are helping bring more children to their forever families. I couldn’t imagine working for a better place!! Thank you Lord.
40 women from St. Louis, MO joined JOY FM Christian radio station for a fun road trip to Nashville. They were able to enjoy 3 full days of concerts, food and taking in the sights of Nashville. The women made a stop by the Show Hope offices for a tour and to hang out with us on Friday. What an amazing group!! Thanks for supporting our ministry JOY FM and Sandi Brown! We are so grateful.
Every single woman on the trip picked out a t-shirt from our new Show Hope merchandise. What a blast it was to see them get excited about their new shirts! We have recently added a few different designs to the store site. Check them out…and spread the word!!
The Show Hope totes are here…be the first to wear one of these super cute bags! Click here to order. You will probably have a hard time deciding what color to choose. They would be the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe…or would make a great pool bag! Thanks for showing your support of Show Hope!
Check out this adorable picture of Grace! Grace’s family is in the beginning stages of an adoption, and recently attended a Steven Curtis Chapman event. She bought this t-shirt with her own money and asked if it would help bring home her little sister faster?! She has such a precious heart. Thanks Grace for supporting Show Hope!! You can check out more of our new apparel by clicking here. Grace’s shirt will be available soon on the store….so keep checking back!!
Can I tell you how much I love seeing people in the new Show Hope apparel?!! My cute husband is the one on the right of the picture (Chris). The other couple are some dear friends Johnny and Shannon….they have a passion for orphans and live life completely beyond belief. They have been praying for a long time about adopting….and are asking the Lord for it to be soon. Johnny and Shannon, we are cheering you on!! Thanks for sporting the new Show Hope gear….it looks great!! I can’t wait to start featuring other families wearing the clothing and sharing their stories. I have been overwhelmed with the response from my blog yesterday. I can’t wait to walk beside these precious families….and encourage them on the adoption journey.
My name is Lindsey Wheeler and what a journey the last few months have been! I came on staff at Show Hope in January 2010 to help with the new Show Hope apparel line. To say that I am grateful for the staff of Show Hope and the Chapman family is such an understatement! Mary Beth’s heart is one of the most giving hearts I have ever known. It wasn’t enough in her eyes to give grants to families that are in the adoption process (which is HUGE)….she wanted something more!! I am so excited for people all over the world to be wearing the new Show Hope apparel line. Mary Beth worked so hard to create a line of clothing that will not only be “cool”….but will also help families in the process of adopting. That’s where I come in. My husband Chris and I adopted a little girl from Guatemala (you can read our story in the “Featured Family” section of the store). We were able to design some t-shirts to raise money for our adoption….and it worked!! The t-shirts actually became conversation pieces and it reminded people to pray for us. I am so excited to get to work with other families to raise money for their own adoptions. We need your help in getting the word out! If you know of a family who is interested in using the Show Hope apparel line to raise money for their adoption, please tell them to e-mail me at lindsey@showhope.org. Also, get everyone you know to buy a shirt and support the ministry at Show Hope!!
If you follow us on Twitter, you may have already heard the exciting news. We are re-launching our web store with a whole new line of Show Hope apparel! Over the next few weeks leading up to the store launch, we will be giving you a sneak peak of the new merchandise that you can “purchase for a purpose.” Watch this behind-the-scenes video of our photo shoot and check back soon for updates!
I know, to say I am back blogging would be wrong because you can count the number of blogs I have written on one hand since we launched this section of our site last year. Maybe, I should say I am now blogging or perhaps to be most accurate and when I post this, I can say – I blogged J. I like to write, I like to share with you what is happening at SH from my vantage point, but last year was a challenging year for me personally as I battled a mild case of Guillain – Barre Syndrome while still keeping up with my duties and responsibilities as Executive Director, a husband to my sweet wife and dad to my children. Some how blogging slipped through the cracks. Having a great team in place that does their job WELL, not to mention with integrity and fervor for the Lord is especially a blessing. We have an awesome group of God fearing men and women who work at Show Hope – we are truly blessed and I am grateful for each of them. While the Doc says it may take up to a year to recover fully and still even then – I may carry some symptoms, I am doing much better now – so thanks to all of you who have stood with me in prayer and passed on well wishes.
So, what will God do through all of us this year, together at Show Hope? Good question. My guess is that He will do the unpredictable and the miraculous. Yes, we do have some exciting plans and new projects that I will share with you in time, but the truth is we don’t know. We can just continue to “become fit” (I know, nice choice of words considering the time of year:-) spiritually and be ready like a soldier training for battle. So, as we commit our ways to Him, lets ask the Lord to help us embrace the unpredictable with courage and stand firm in believing He will do miracles in and through our lives, especially for the many lives for which we serve and fight for in this ministry. You game to join us? Hope so, buckle up and hold on tight.
